How to Work with Toddlers

with Karlton Terry
Monday, 15 September 2025 at 19h UK time
Because they’re so wonderfully wilful and mobile, toddlers require a whole different sort of attention than babies who are only sitting or crawling.

Toddlers need to feel their power, but also need to understand how boundaries and order can help orient their inner restlessness. While toddlers are vivaciously exploring their environment, we also want to help them learn how to be at home and contained within body rhythms that are safe and inwardly inviting so that we can work with them therapeutically.

In this class, Karlton Terry will explain the specific requirements for working with toddlers and introduce us to games and doll reflection processes.
However, reenactment does not generally lead to healing, only therapeutic support can help the integration of the shock held in the system.

In this class, Karlton shares his take on Emerson's recapitulation theory and show examples of recapitulation dynamics.
