Tissue Intelligence

Listening to Our Cells and Fluids 

with Joan Davis

How may we access the innate ‘intelligence’ of our fluids, cells and tissues from our current adult age and from a resourced place in present time? More importantly, how is this intelligence recognised and if so, how might that impact our whole being?

These questions represent a starting point for a form of somatic practice developed by Joan Davis - a synthesis of decades of study and trainings in the fields of Process Oriented Psychology, developmental processes, embryology, early infant trauma and many more. 

The practice prioritises listening to our tissues, bypassing the "thinking mind" in order to uncover deeper bodily wisdom. While the work isn’t exclusively about birth, it may reveal pre- and perinatal patterns organically through somatic awareness.

In this two hour workshop, Joan will guide participants through the practice and encourage open-minded exploration. We may discover a greater sense of intimacy with ourselves with the possibility of finding  a depth of Recognition, Acknowledgement and Unconditional Acceptance.

In this class John Wilks explores the history and uses of suction, vacuum extraction and ventouse and examines the implications for postnatal treatment approaches for both mum and baby.

John has been practising the Bowen Technique and Craniosacral Therapy full time since 1995. He is the author of four books on complementary therapies and developed a specialised Craniosacral training course for midwives which was the first of its kind to be accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.
