Making The Transition From Water To Earth

With Suzanne Yates
Birth looked at through the lens of Shiatzu with Practitioner and Trainer Suzanne Yates

Even before our amniotic sac encloses us, supporting us in a watery environment around four weeks after fertilisation, we have been developing as cells in a fluid environment. Fluid is part of our nature, and as we transition there is a great adjustment.. What happens to our body as we make the transition from water to earth?

By revisiting this transition in our own bodies it can help us as practitioners to better understand and support mothers and babies through the birth process. Together we will explore the different movements involved as well as the changing connection to our mother and our environment.

As we do this we will ask, what supports us? What may block us? We will investigate our own responses to this process to gain a thorough understanding from own experience. Suzanne will also examine this theme in terms of which meridians/channels of acupuncture are affected for those of us who would like to expand our knowledge of the TCM perspective.

Suzanne approach has grown out of how bodywork, especially massage and shiatsu, can support the well being of parents and babies. She is the founder of the Wellmother Approach teaches and trains worldwide.
