Conscious
Baby

With Kate white
Babies are a unique population. They are conscious, intelligent and aware.

Many manual therapists who work with babies are reporting an increase in issues in babies that can be addressed by competent bodyworkers, including torticollis, plagiocephaly, difficulty with breastfeeding, increase in tongue tie, difficulty settling, disrupted sleep cycles, developmental issues, and more.

Babies are a unique population. They are conscious, intelligent and aware. Because they cannot explain their symptoms with words, somatic therapists are ideal to understand the challenges they face and how to help them. Intelligent and loving touch has been identified as a need for babies. Parents can also be taught to work with their children; in fact this is ideal. Babies benefit from small daily doses of bodywork and awareness on the part of the parent.

In this class, Kate White, Educational Director of the Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH), presents her very recent work on the “conscious baby”. The Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health’s mission is to educate parents and professionals about the baby’s experience of conception, pregnancy and birth, especially how these experiences form a template for living throughout the lifespan. This presentation is a sneak peek at a new course called "The Conscious Baby Program for Parents™
