A Birth Mask is the story of cranial and facial molding caused by compression and drag forces during birth.

Evaluating the Birth Mask can lead us to clues of the physical and psycho-emotional story of the baby’s birth. This can support our work as birth practitioners to facilitate deeper bonding between the parents and baby.

This demonstration with Karlton provides an interactive analysis and diagramming of the facial markers left by contact forces from the birth journey.
